Your local social security office is assigned by zip code. You can use the Social Security Office Locator to find out what office corresponds to your zip code. That’s it! Just enter your zip code and the Social Security Office Locator will match you to your local Social Security office.
What services are available at my local Social Security office?
The local Social Security office (or “field office”) generally offers the full range of SSA services. These services include:
- applying for new or replacement Social Security cards;
- applying for Social Security benefits;
- making changes to your benefits information; and
- helping Medicare beneficiaries with limited income and resources apply for extra help with the cost of their prescription drugs under the Medicare Prescription Drug Program.
While these services are generally available at your local Social Security office, you may also be able to get the same services on the Social Security website.
How do I find my Social Security hearing office?
Once you know your local Social Security office, finding your Social Security hearing office is a breeze. You would simply visit the Social Security Hearing Office Locator. Your hearing office is assigned based upon your local Social Security office. Each of the hearing offices on the locator shows the field offices that are assigned to it.
